The three-step process, that is, drying, deammonization, and melting, is completed in three processes
1. First, the vanadium cake is dried into powder by a dryer
2. Deammonization by deammonization equipment
3. Melting by melting furnace

The flash Sierra calciner is used to achieve rapid deammonization. The dried vanadium powder is continuously sent into the deammonization furnace, and the heated hot air enters the deammonization furnace, and is quickly mixed with the powdered vanadium entering the furnace. Realize rapid decomposition in the flow, and decompose into V2O5 powder vanadium after tens of seconds
3. Melting
Three-phase electric arc furnaces, radiant tube melting furnaces, and flash melting furnaces are mainly used in the melting process. Radiant tube melting furnace and flash melting furnace are new types of furnaces for rapid melting of vanadium sheets, which are mainly composed of flash melting chamber and heat preservation molten pool.

The traditional process method is a one-step process. The water-containing filter cake of vanadium or ammonium polyvanadate produced in the previous process is put into the reverberatory furnace and heated for a long time to gradually complete the drying, deammonization and melting processes.
The one-step process is simple, and the main problems are:
1. High energy consumption, energy utilization rate is less than 30%.
2. The recovery rate is low, and the current achievable recovery rate is 95%~97%
3. Environmental pollution, ammonia gas produced in molten vanadium is generally discharged into the air, causing air pollution
4. The working environment is poor. Due to poor sealing, the dust and smoke generated will affect the environment and the health of workers.
The traditional two-step process is to dry the raw materials through drying equipment, and send the dried vanadium powder into the furnace for melting and tableting.
The main problems of the two-step process:
1. Deammonization and melting are carried out at the same time
2. Long melting time
3. Ammonia gas is difficult to recover
The three-step process can improve the efficiency of producing vanadium flakes, and the hot air generated by the flash melting furnace can be used as a drying heat source, which not only effectively utilizes heat, but also effectively recovers vaporized ammonia in the air, which has significant economic benefits.
